I think about mathematics more than is reasonable, and I write software so the ideas have somewhere to go. Data science and scientific computing are most of my days. Language models too, when they sit inside something I am already making.

I like going a layer down. I like a proof that still works after I have implemented it.

This site is the writing that comes out of that — notes, thoughts, posts.

It started with math. Data science and AI arrived later, once I wanted to see the ideas actually move.

I still get stuck on why an algorithm works. Analysis, linear algebra, probability, graph theory — I keep notebooks, then I go build a small thing just to find out.

I like a long view. I take the laptop with me more often than is sensible.

I look out and I am always wondering. Some question is usually still open, even then. The problems go with me.
